Middle School Youth Group

Middle School Youth Group

In the fall of 2017, significant changes were made to the Sunday morning Church School format. As part of those changes, Christian formation for middle school-aged youth was separated from Church School, and a new Youth Group for grades 6, 7 and 8 was formed.

Led by Fr. Kevin and Brian Foster, the Middle School Youth Group meets for 1 1/2 hours on selected Sundays and focuses on the "Five Fs": food, fun fellowship, and faith formation. In 2018 they engaged in such spiritually uplifting things as "Toilet Paper Costumes," a "Living Lost-and-Found," 'One-Handed Gift Wrapping," parking lot chalk drawing and "Hide and Seek." Members of the group also participate in our Malvern Blooms booth, St. Francis Day animal blessings, Feeding Thousands outreach, wreath-making, Las Posadas and Christmas caroling, among other events.

This year the group is using the Prayer of St. Francis as a prompt for study and discussion, looking at each individual phrase and what it means in our lives.
