Our guest speaker this month is Mary Galligan, Executive Director of the Art Partners Studio in Coatesville. The Art Partners Studio is the beneficiary of 50% of the net proceeds of this year's Arts Festival.
Did you know that there is a hidden gem in the middle of downtown Coatesville which has been providing art classes, exhibits, performances, and camps for 21 years? Art Partners Studio, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, was founded to meet the need for a creative resource accessible to residents of Northern Chester County. True to its name, Art Partners works closely with other organizations, including the Coatesville Area School District, the City of Coatesville, the Coatesville library, the Veterans Administration Hospital, the Coatesville Kids to College program, the Coatesville Youth Initiative, and the Coatesville Senior Center to bring creative opportunities to all ages.
The studio employs a network of well-known professional artists from across the greater Philadelphia area to teach its programs. A generous scholarship and tuition assistance program ensures no one is turned away for being unable to afford classes. Though they mostly serve residents in a 15 mile radius of Coatesville, they have people who travel from Paoli, Quakertown, Lancaster, Philadelphia and even Delaware to participate in art making with them.
