COVID-19 Protocols, Information and Resources

COVID Update - February 26, 2022

Dear St. Francis Family,

Based on guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on February 25, 2022, St. Francis-in-the-Fields will move to OPTIONAL MASK-WEARING, effective immediately. This protocol change applies to indoor worship, fellowship, and all other aspects of parish life.

Important:
During this new and hopeful chapter, we ask that everyone worshipping at St. Francis continue to remain sensitive to the situation and practice awareness of yourself and others, practicing reasonable social distancing and good judgement regarding personal contact. Individuals will approach risk and re-entering community differently. Please make an effort to recognize when others appear to be more hesitant or uncomfortable. Although mask wearing will no longer be required, masks and sanitizer will continue to be available in the church. Communion will still be offered without the common chalice for sometime to come.

Rationale:
The most recent report form the Chester County Health Department (2/25) continues to reflect decline in both incident and positivity rates. Originally, the COVID Safety Task Force targeted March 1st as the date to adjust our masking policy, contingent on ChesCo health data reports. However, based on Friday's announcement by the CDC, the Task Force agrees that the time is right to begin following a mask-optional policy, one week in advance of our original March 1st goal. The COVID Safety Task Force will continue to monitor the data for the weeks and months ahead and will make necessary changes if the need arises.

Blessings to all, and continued thanks to God for guiding through these difficult times.
Fr. Kevin+

The COVID Safety Task Force is: Jane Brooks, Diane Faison, Dan Goff, Sue Lenkaitis, Sherri Lewis, Earl Needhammer, Joe Perry, Connie Scanga, John Stearns, Shirley Warren, & Fr. Kevin Dellaria
